YProTech, the fast-growing contract research organisation focused on niche chemistry-based services, is relocating to the former AstraZeneca R&D site at Alderley Park from May.
Originally formed at the Leeds University Bio Incubator, YProTech provides specialist chemistry and intellectual property services to life science customers, and has grown from just two staff in 2011 to ten today. The company undertook a six-month evaluation of expansion options before deciding to relocate. The company is advised by Acceleris Capital who raised start up capital for the Company in April 2013 and are currently in the process of closing an expansion round following the move to Alderley Park.
Dr Pete Jackson, Chairman of YProTech commented, ‘We are delighted to have identified world-class facilities on the Alderley Park site for the next stage of our development. Relocating to the BioHub represents a new phase in the growth of YProTech and provides us with the facilities to ensure we deliver at the highest level for our existing customers while being able to expand and attract new customers.’.
The collaborative BioHub R&D centre provides a vibrant and innovative environment with a growing number of biotech and pharma companies. YProTech’s fully refurbished space comprises high end chemistry laboratories for executing customer driven research projects, dedicated office space, and access to world class conference and meeting facilities for hosting visitors.
Ned Wakeman, Biohub Director said, ‘We are very pleased to welcome YProTech to BioHub at Alderley Park. As more and more companies move to BioHub we see a need for more diverse services. With the long chemistry history of the site it is good to see a chemistry focused company established here providing key chemistry services to our tenants and the broader industry.’
