On 18th November 2021 the 23rd Investment Company Awards took place in association with the AIC. The Investment Week event took place in Grosvenor Square, London, and was hosted by former footballer Fabrice Muamba with attendees spanning the UK’s splendid investment landscape.
The Seneca Growth Capital VCT was recognised for its consistently strong performance and the fund was crowned VCT Specialist of the year. These awards reward excellence in closed-ended fund management and highlight investment managers that deliver for investors. This year’s judges included some of the UK’s leading researchers and investors in investment companies and a number of qualitative factors were considered including Seneca’s NAV returns over the 3 years to 30 June 2021.
Matt Currie, Director of Seneca’s Investment Team commented:
“We are delighted that the Seneca Growth Capital VCT has been recognised for its performance over what has been a challenging last few years. The team has maintained its investment principles and put the interests of the investors at the heart of its decision making. Since launch in 2018, the VCT has made 16 investments and already established a positive exit track record, achieving five exits (full and partial) at a blended total return of 2.2x. In addition, 9p of dividends have been paid since launch. We are particularly proud that the VCT’s NAV increased by 37% (including dividends paid) from 30th March 2020 to 30th June 2021.”
