Sales momentum sustained at Gear4Music

Gear4music, an online retailer of musical instruments and music equipment, has sustained its strong sales momentum as the listed business prepares to open its first European distribution centre.

In a trading update for the six months to 31 August 2016, the York business upped UK sales by 44 per cent to £13.8m while European sales soared by 169 per cent to £7.8m.

“Reassured by this sales growth, we are continuing to invest in the business, including establishing our first European distribution centre that will be located in Sweden, which we expect to be operational from November this year,” said chief executive Andrew Wass.
