Securing capital for any turnaround assignment can be difficult and having access to funding is critical in most instances. Often businesses can require funds in a matter of days. In addition to funding, stressed/turnaround opportunities require a unique skill set given the challenging nature of the opportunities.
Melanie was a founding member of the Seneca team and is responsible for the origination and execution of deals in the Yorkshire market. She also manages an investment portfolio as well as managing investor relations.
Melanie has operated in the restructuring and turnaround markets for her entire career. Melanie’s career began with Ernst & Young in 1998 where she fulfilled various roles having advised a wide range of stakeholders to stressed corporates across many varying sectors. In 2004, she joined Kroll to focus on corporate assignments within the National and International markets where she also gained her Insolvency License.
Frustrated with the lack of SME funding, in order to assist stressed businesses with a turnaround strategy, together with strategic direction, Melanie co-founded Frontline in 2008 and subsequently Seneca Investments Limited in 2011 to provide just that.
Through Frontline and Seneca, Melanie has an enviable track record of investing in businesses with an ability to deliver high returns on investment via creative restructuring methods.
Melanie currently holds a number of non-exec roles in a diverse portfolio of businesses.
