Please reply to mary.rodgers@eisa.org.uk by the 1st of December if you would like to attend the event.

The EIS Association (EISA) is the official trade body for the Enterprise Investment Scheme. We are a highly effective not for profit organisation which works closely with HMRC and HM Treasury to enhance the EIS and generally promote the scheme to a wider audience. EISA policy engagement in recent years has been followed by changes to rules and legislation including:

•Increase in EIS income tax relief from 20% to 30%
•Relaxation of income tax carry-back, permitting investment at any time in a tax year
•Removal of loss relief cap of £50,000 for investors in EIS
•Increase in the annual cap for investment into an EIS qualifying company from £2m to £5m
•Increase in the gross assets limit for companies eligible for EIS investment from £7m to £15m pre new money
•Increase in the maximum number of employees allowed in an EIS qualifying company from 50 to 250

Our membership has grown steadily over the years and includes most of the key players in the growing EIS/SEIS market. The benefits of membership include regular technical updates on the EIS, involvement in our successful consultation processes and access to our very popular events which are attended by the leading figures in the EIS/SEIS industry. Our education programme includes an EIS Diploma Course, which is likely to become the officially recognised qualification for the EIS – http://www.eisa.org.uk/eis-diploma/

The past year has seen many changes in the political and economic landscape and we see EIS/SEIS increasingly at the forefront of small company investing. By coming along to our Seminar you will get an insight into the EIS industry and an update on current Government thinking on EIS/SEIS and tax advantaged investments in general. The increased profile of the Association enables us to increase the networking between members which is generating a significant level of enquiry from interested parties. It is also an opportunity to meet members from various professions who are involved in the EIS/SEIS industry in the Birmingham region.

We would be delighted if you would come along and find out for yourself how joining our Association would be of benefit to you. Entry is free.

We look forward to seeing you on the 6th of December

Kind regards,

Mark Brownridge – Director General of the EISA
